Celebrating 10 years!!

Ten years ago (February 2011) I started my business as a massage therapist, and I still love learning about the intricacies of the human form. This is the longest career I have ever had! And I have no intention of stopping yet.

I started out in Swedish Massage. Within 2 months of qualifying I commenced a Level 5 Clinical Sport & Remedial Massage course…and the rest is history, so they say.

In the last 10 years I have added a lot of layers to what I do, which has fine tuned my touch, understanding of anatomy and physiology, and made me understand that I will always be learning, never an expert. And it is the depth and breadth of what there is still to learn that keeps me new and alert and passionate.

Two areas that I am particularly passionate about is ScarWork, which I have been doing for over 5 years now, and, most recently, I have been immersing myself in becoming trauma informed. We all have varying levels of trauma in our lives…most of us won’t even recognise it as trauma, myself included, but in learning about our nervous system (specifically the sympathetic and parasympathetic and the polyvagal theory) and how we process our life’s goings on, goodness, we do store a lot of crap! And that is, very often, in our physical body.

Through compassionate and non-judgemental listening to your story, the right kind of hands on work for what you need, and appropriate movement advice (I just facilitate and initiate change, you need to also be a part of your healing journey), I can pull together all the aspects of my learning, experience to date and forever continual learning to provide you, my client, with the most tailored and you-specific treatment that I can, to help move you from a place of stiffness, pain, discomfort, anxiety, fear, or whatever you come to me with, to a place of ease.

Of the 10 years I have been practicing, 5 have been based on this beautiful little island that I call home, Alderney.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all my clients past, present and future, you have, you continue to and will always keep me fresh and alert to new stuff…🙏💜
